The UK's ultimate walking challenge!
16 February 2021
At Conquer Hiking and Trekking we pride ourselves on organising and facilitating a range of walks and challenging events for all age groups and abilities. It is important to get people enjoying the great outdoors across the UK and beyond for both their physical and mental well-being. We also work alongside various charities and other not-for-profit organisations, understanding just how vital fundraising is to them and their beneficiaries, even more so during these recent challenging times. Each year we aim to give something back to a handful of charities from the entry fees to our various walks and events. A minimum donation of 10% of each entry fee from all of our public walks is donated to our chosen charity. We also support other charities with donations from other walks and events held throughout the year. We are very pleased to announce that in 2021 our nominated charity and recipient of the public walk donations will be The Steve Prescott Foundation. The Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF) is the very proud legacy of Steve Prescott MBE. Steve was diagnosed with a rare abdominal cancer pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) in 2006. Steve was a former professional rugby league international who undertook many challenges during his battle with cancer. He set up the SPF in 2007 and is the inspiration to people who support his chosen charities. He passed away in 2013 following pioneering multi visceral transplant surgery. The donations to the SPF go to support The Christie Hospital in Manchester and the Rugby League Benevolent Fund. To find out more about The Steve Prescott Foundation please visit their Facebook page or have a look at their website: www.steveprescottfoundation.co.uk. Please keep an eye on our website, www.conquerhiking.com, and like/follow our Facebook page www.facebook.com/Conquerhiking, for news on all upcoming walks and events in 2021/2022. There are a few walks already lined up and open for general registration. We will be adding plenty of walks and events to the calendar throughout the year as and when the current restrictions are eased and lifted. We are also encouraging individuals, groups and organisations to get in touch with us during the lockdown period to discuss how we can help them in organising a bespoke event. Together we can lay the groundwork now and put plans in place to enable your event to be ready to go once the restrictions are lifted. If you would like our help, experience and assistance in planning your walk or challenge then get in touch with your ideas by emailing info@conquerhiking.com and we can put a plan in place.

2020 was an extremely tough and unusual year for everybody in the UK and around the world. With the latest national lockdown being announced at the start of 2021 many people have the feeling of groundhog day, like they are stuck in a constant cycle of lockdowns and restrictions. Negativity is the overriding feeling. However, great hope is most certainly on the horizon and we want to help you to turn those negatives into positives and look forward to the rest of this year, and beyond, once the vaccinations increase and restrictions ease. Why not use this downtime constructively and put the groundwork and plans in place for some great adventures in the UK and maybe further afield so that you are ready for when that time comes and the restrictions are lifted? Would you like to explore more of the beautiful countryside and landscapes in the UK with family and friends? Are you a charity or organisation that's looking to boost your fundraising efforts or an individual trying to raise funds for a cause close to your heart? Then please read on and discover how we can help you with this. The impact of COVID-19 will be huge across the globe but the impact on charities and voluntary organisations could be fatal. Why not help by raising invaluable funds once the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted? Conquer Hiking and Trekking specialise in creating a range of bespoke hiking and trekking challenges across the UK and beyond. Our experienced team meticulously plan each challenge, taking into account your requirements, needs and desires, and help each participant to achieve their goal of completing the challenge. Charities and other organisations require a regular funding stream, it's their lifeblood, and what better way to raise funds and create awareness of the cause than taking part in a challenge? Not only would you be benefitting the charity or organisation but it would also give you a goal for your own fitness and wellbeing, a wonderful personal achievement and possibly a once-in-a-lifetime global experience. We can offer a range of tried and trusted challenges but we also welcome new ideas so get in touch with us and let's discuss them. Challenges come in all shapes and sizes, as do our challengers. So whatever your age, shape or size, we can tailor an event to suit you. We also appreciate that lots of people cannot commit to challenges of a longer duration so we can arrange events from 2 hours to 2 weeks, or more. It's your choice! Our hiking and trekking challenges in the UK include: Snowdon, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike (or all 3 in 24 hours as The National 3 Peaks Challenge), The Yorkshire 3 Peaks, Hadrian's Wall and Coast to Coast(east to west), plus more. If you have your sights set on a once-in-a-lifetime overseas challenge then this is a selection that we can arrange in conjunction with some of the best guiding and support teams in the world: Mount Kilimanjaro, Everest Base Camp, The Grand Canyon, Machu Picchu. Are you worried or unsure about how to plan and organise a challenge? Don't be. Let us take care of that. We will discuss your requirements at length and then take care of the rest. We comprehensively plan and facilitate each challenge from start to finish. We can advise and assist with advertising and promoting events on social media, training were necessary or requested, informing participants regarding kit required for challenges and offer full guidance on what to expect in ech challenge. Once a date has been set we can help you as an individual or your charity team to prepare, if you so wish. Training walks can be arranged over 1 day or a weekend with an optional overnight stay. We can organise bootcamps and personal training sessions (in conjunction with our good friends at Accelerate Coaching). We can also give you an insight into the challenge ahead and answer any questions you may have, drawing on our own personal experiences. We will be with you every step of the way, encouraging, assisting and allowing you to achieve your goal and make some fantastic new memories. Your family and friends will be very proud of you, you will have raised invaluable funds for a cause and you might want to update your CV to include this new fantastic acheivement! Now is the time to set your future goals, to give you a target to strive towards and to help those in need. We'd love to hear from you if you would like Conquer to arrange and facilitate your challenge. Get in touch through our Facebook page ( www.facebook.com/Conquerhiking ) or email info@conquerhiking.com to express your interest and we'll take it from there!
